Zhanna is a rising junior at UCLA studying International Development Studies with a minor in Entrepreneurship. She is passionate about advocacy and justice, particularly for communities and groups who have faced historical marginalization. After reading Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson, Zhanna knew she wanted to work to reform the criminal justice system by ending mass incarceration in the US, amplifying the stories and voices of formerly incarcerated individuals, and providing extensive resources for successful reentry into society. In her free time, Zhanna loves to play tennis, explore the outdoors, and try new foods.
