Sophia Collender is a sophomore student at Fordham University where she is on a Pre-Law track and is pursuing a double major in Film + Television and Art History as well as a minor in Philosophy. She is particularly interested in learning about the roles of art and media as they relate to the construction of culture and human cognition and wants to examine how these aspects of civilization can be used to elicit positive social change in the modern world. After graduation, Sophia plans to pursue these ideas as a graduate student and to pair this work with a degree in law.
Sophia has over five years of non-profit experience and has been with Witness to Mass Incarceration for roughly a year. She is very excited to be working on the Map Project Team and is proud to be part of an organization with such a dedicated approach to making life safer for a vast severely underserved population.
