Sonia Kalo is a rising Sophomore at Baruch College majoring in English literature and minoring in journalism. Becoming a contributing writer for Baruch’s student-run newspaper, The Ticker, ignited her passion for storytelling and social advocacy. This experience and passion is what inspired her upcoming work with WITNESS to tell the stories of recently incarcerated women and LGBTQ+ individuals. She is looking forward to learning about mass incarceration and what can be done to dismantle it.
