Sarah is a rising senior at UCLA studying Psychology with minors in Philosophy and Global Health. She plans to pursue a career in law upon graduating and is particularly passionate about criminal justice reform, community health, and the decriminalization of mental illness. Inspired by the work of her Public Defender mock trial mentors and reading about the work of Bryan Stevenson, Sarah now recognizes the urgent need to shift from a system of punishment to treatment and support. Sarah is eager to contribute to the tireless work of WITNESS in amplifying the stories and voices of formerly incarcerated individuals and advocating for an end to mass incarceration.
