Sam Daponte

Sam is a Junior at the University at Buffalo majoring in Sociology with a focus in criminology, urban sociology, and educational inequality. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Sam has always valued work that directly helps and empowers his community. From his volunteer experience in his hometown with local non-profits and the NYCDOE, to his impassioned effort to allocate resources from U-Buffalo to disenfranchised communities in the heart of Buffalo, NY, Sam has found a spark in the world of social advocacy. Looking to build on this and enact meaningful change, Sam is looking forward to working with the brightest and most passionate minds at WITNESS. In his free time, he enjoys reading, writing, listening to music and playing basketball (and always arguing about the state of the NY Knicks).
