Emilia is a rising sophomore at Fordham University at the Lincoln Center campus in Manhattan, and is originally from Raleigh, North Carolina. She is studying Sociology and Pre-Law with hopes to minor in African History. Previously, Emilia has volunteered with various non-profits such as Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and Alliance Medical Ministry, in addition to working with student-led organizations focused on correcting injustices within her community in North Carolina and beyond. Now, in her first year living in New York, her interests in racial justice and the justice system have led her to her internship at Witness. She hopes to educate people about the truth of the carceral state and help people who have been directly affected by imprisonment.
