Josie Lafontant

Josie Lafontant is a freshman at UC Berkeley. Her interest in journalism comes from her

insatiable curiosity and love of storytelling—a passion she hopes to develop as a double

major in Media Studies and Sociology. She is particularly drawn to issues of

intersectionality within social justice causes, stemming from her volunteer work with

people with disabilities, those in the foster care system, and the mentally ill. When she

isn’t writing, you can find her playing guitar, hiking, or falling down Wikipedia rabbit

holes.
